Happy Holidays!

It's December 1st. . . . . It's officially Christmas!  Yeah!!!!
I have to say that my holiday started off with a fantabulous start!
For the first time in about 4 years I had all of my children, a grandbaby  and sons  (-inlaws)  all under the same roof for 5 days
 in a row!!!!
I wasn't sure how it would be. . . .
Would we get along okay??
Would we still be friends after the weekend?
Would my children still call me "mother"?
Or would it turn into a sibling disaster?
Well, my fears were met with the most incredible, Thanksgiving holiday!
All I can say is:
There IS love at home!!!   (exhale. . . . . )

We spent Wednesday before Thanksgiving at Spencer and Jenny's wedding in the SLC temple.  AHHHHH so beautiful.  The ceremony was the best.  I loved everything the sealer said.  I wish I could have it all written down to remind me of the wonderful blessings and responsibilities that are ours when we make those vows.    Picts afterwards. . . . . Julie and Brian had better get them on the Wall Blog. . . . I'm still waiting on Adam and Britt's.

Turkey day was also spent with the "Wall's".  We dined at Terry and Heidi's and. . . there were ONLY 40 something there for dinner.  Serious, we could have had more like 60-70 easy had a few more families shown.
The food was wonderful as expected. . . especially Marsha's sweet potatoes and apples. . . .my FAV!  I think it's everybody's FAV!  So here . . . . .jot the recipe and I PROMISE YOU. . . . this will be the hit of your next holiday dinner!

Marsha's Yams
about 6 yams - boil for 20 minutes
and slice into 1/2 inch dollars
Pam your Pan or butter the bottom
and layer yams and sliced apples.
(about 3 or 4 will probably do.)
Then pour over this yummy sauce.
Sauce
1/2 cup melted butter (the real thing)
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
Blend on the stove with 2 cups of water.
add
3 TBSP cornstarch (diluted in a little water)
cook until it thickens and then
add 2 TBSP lemon juice.
Pour over the yams
Bake one hour at 350 degrees.
mmmmmmm!

On Friday we went and did a little shopping.  Spent more than we had budgeted. . . . .why am I not surprised????
Here are the Uggs we got for Shelly belly;  yeah, she picked them out and tried them on. . . said "pretty pretty puuuuleeeeze!"  but she can't have them until Christmas.   We made some other purchases, but due to technical difficulties will not be shared at this time.
Shopping is usually not my favorite thing to do, but this was a fun shopping excursion, especially with Robin.  He's the BEST shopper in the world!!! Actually most all the Wall men are dang good shoppers.

We also ate Thanksgiving dinner#2. . . . . .all the left overs from the day before.    My favorite dessert was Matt's banana cream pie. . . . mmmmmm!

Let's see. . . . Saturday, we shopped some more?  Hung out with the Wall's, rented "Get Smart". . . .ehhhh a little bit of a disappointment, but we still had a great time.  Afterwards we went to bed for one last night of sweet dreams before we headed home Sunday.

Michelle was the perfect hostess and we had a Mahhhvelous time!
I can't wait for Christmas!
I wish I had picts but we were having so much fun that we forgot to take any! DANG!  Had our cameras. . . . just didn't snap any.
But take my word for it.  We were all smiles!
